Possibility and obstacles to practice art through woodcut media in 21st century in Bangladesh

printmaking in Bangladesh began its formal practice in 1974 and after 1983 woodcut specifically began its journey as a department in formal education. Since its inception in 1983 various experienced people have been gaining knowledge about the education center from abroad wanting to make this woodcut medium a powerful media. The effect of which can be seen  in the work of those who are working in the 21st century with this woodcut. The main goal of this thesis is find the possibility in the practice of woodcut in the 21st century in Bangladesh kind of difficulties are there what could be the way of it. There are some obstacles to use as a printmaking media those are lack of high quality woodcut tools lack of woodcut print workshop in all over the Bangladesh, lack of refine color in all over the Bangladesh. There are huge possibility to chose woodcut media to explore there artistic though in young Bangladeshi artist . The main purpose of study is to identify possibility and obstacles to practice art though woodcut media to show it to art student ad to show it to the people who have the slights  knowledge of  printmaking and to see how the common people are taking it.
