Heavy metals are defined as naturally occurring elements. The potential effects of it on human health and the environment are raising concern nowadays. Toxic heavy metal consumption through common food stuffs is a major concern in developing countries. In Bangladesh perspective, it is revealed that fishes, chicken meat and vegetables contain cadmium above their corresponding safe limit. Here, we tried to find the molecular basis of teratogenesis caused by maternal cadmium consumption during gestation.
