In silico anti-pathogenic drug candidate screening against Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Bacterial infection is one of the major reasons of human and animal diseases. Gram negative bacteria is responsible for some of the most life threatening ones. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a common organism of this criteria which is a member of Quorum sensing system. Quorum sensing is a signaling system by which these bacteria rapidly grow virulence and maintain the density of colony. Because of the anti-microbial resistance issue of last few years, quorum sensing system has been a prime target for gram negative bacteria. The study shows an in silico approach of targeting the signaling molecules resulting into inhibition of quorum sensing system, which in turn attenuates virulence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
