Emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in selected poultry farms of Khulna district.

Antibiotic resistant bacterial strains have created an unprecedented challenge for human civilization worldwide, particularly in developing countries, causing high mortality each year. Indiscriminate and irrational use of antibiotics in poultry farms is one of the most influential factors of antibiotic resistance and the global emergence of multi-drug resistant bacteria. In the present study soil samples from four different poultry farms (Batiaghata, Khulna) were explored to find out antibiotic resistant bacteria (ARB).
