Antibacterial activity of flavonoids to enhance the sustainability of commercial drugs against antibiotic resistant bacterial isolates

Antimicrobial resistance in bacterial pathogens is a challenge caused by both gram positive and negative bacteria that is associated with high morbidity and mortality. The overuse of antibiotics in the cattle industry has resulted in a serious public health risk in the form of multi-drug resistant bacterial infections. Resistant organisms have not only emerged in the environment but are now often identified in wide range of food items, like meat which act as a potential source. So, the objectives of the present study are-

- Isolation, identification and characterization of bacteria
- Isolation of genomic DNA and sequence of 16s ribosomal DNA
- Determination of antibiotic resistance among bacterial isolates
- Synergistic effects of plant extract together with antibiotics on antibiotic resistant bacteria
