Pharmacy Discipline is running vibrant research in different areas of drug discovery. With the highly motivated and experienced faculty members, the discipline is currently running research in Natural Products Chemistry, Phytotherapy and Pharmacology, Molecular and Cancer biology and Formulation and dosage form design.The findings of these research work have been already published in renowned national and international journals.
At present the following projects are in progress:
- Exploring Pharmacological (analgesis, anti-pyretic, neuropharmacological, antidiarrhoeal, anthelmintic etc.) activities of traditionally used medicinal plants with special attention to the Mangrove plants of Sundarban origin.
- Investigation of antioxidant and anticancer activities of edible herbs
- Pharmacogenetic screening of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in different patients with disease conditions of breast cancer, endocrine disorders and infections
- Formulation and quality evaluation of different dosage forms of medicine
